The Journey Within, Bernie Williams (GRP). New York Yankees’ slugger Williams nurtured a twin love of baseball and music as a kid growing up in San Juan, where he turned heads with his batting prowess as he polished his guitar skills in a local conservatory. His debut album is much more than an exercise in vanity or publicity stunt—Williams is a confident, expressive guitarist and writes easy-on-the-ear melodies. This smooth jazz, Latin-spiced session is an easy triple.
